There is very little in the documentary record regarding Martín Hernández Chillón. He mustered into the Expedition as a footman. There is a Pasajero record that seems highly likely to refer to the expeditionary. If correct, then Martín was a native of Guadalcanal and the son of Juan González Chilón and Isabel Sánchez. He possibly used his father's name, Chillón, as a way to distinguish himself from the other Martín Hernándezes on the Expedition. Also, there were at least four other expeditionaries from Guadalcanal.
