Leal, Fundadores  [p.40: Familias de Guadalajara, from Bautismos, 1599-1617; father of Pedro de Céspedes (who died before February 1590). Juan was married to María Sánchez; both were vecinos of Cubas, 5 leagues from Madrid. The son, though, was born in 1502, so maybe not the expeditionary who was born around 1522]
