Antón Ruiz

Brief Biography: 
Although the name Antón Ruiz was somewhat common, it appears from the Pasajero record that Antón came to New Spain in 1536 with his brother and fellow expeditionary, Gonzalo Yáñez. He was a native of Guadalacanal (Sevilla province) and the son of Gonzalo Yáñez Ortega and Juana Páez. Antón was present at the 1540 muster as a footman.
