Martín Cacçol, indio

Brief Biography

The indios amigos were not listed on the 1540 muster but many were present. They also rarely appear as individuals in the documentary record. Luckily, several served as witnesses after the Expedition returned to New Spain. Martín Cacçol was a native of Mexico City. He accompanied fray Marcos de Niza when the priest was ordered to return to Mexico City in August 1540.
